The Issue

Torture is a method to suppress dissent and obtain blind allegiance to tyrannical social and governmental systems. The goal is to psychologically, morally, and physically reduce the victim to a sub-human condition. Torture is not inhuman; It is anti-human.

Of the United Nations nearly 200 member nations, over two-thirds use torture either openly or tacitly to control their citizens. It is estimated that there are over 400,000 survivors of torture from around the world currently living in the United States.
