Psychological Services

CST focuses on the reconstruction of the psychological integrity of the individual survivor who has been subjected to the de-humanizing process of torture. Based on a holistic approach, CST provides individual therapy from a cognitive-behavioral model and incorporates an eclectic range of therapies. Each person is assessed individually and resources and methodologies are brought to bare to best meet their needs.

Among the complementary therapies used are group therapy aimed at socialization and adjustment to the new culture, expressive and occupational therapies, progressive relaxation, and evoked imagery.

Because of the recurring nature of PTSD symptoms and related needs, CST's psychological services are always available to the clients as they adjust to their new lives.
